AUTHORS NOTE:
I remind everyone that this series is not necessarily in order. It jumps around the timeline a lot. For example, last chapter was after Jeanne, whereas this chapter is when Reader is still in the survey corps. Please bear with me, for I prefer writing this way. Thank you.

A dozen figures in green clad cloaks sat on horseback by the gate, anxiously awaiting for it to open. You were one of those few chosen for the mission preluding the larger one to follow in a week. You and 11 others, many from your trainee group, were chosen specifically for the mission. Not only to test your battle skills, but also to provide information for the upcoming mission beyond the walls. Amoung those chosen was Jean, Reiner, Bertholdt, Mikasa, Sasha, and of course, Rivaille, who led the mission. There were a few others which you didn't bother to learn the names of.
It had been around a month after your shoulder had healed. Although you frequently had trouble with it, you didn't back down when you were chosen for the mission, despite Rivaille's protests. He argued you weren't ready for battle, despite your injury being healed. You had argued back, and the result lasted with a silence between you two for the rest of the day.
A solution was found later on that night, however.
The thought brought a small blush to your face, which Mikasa noticed, but did not comment on. However, she gave you a knowing look, and an ever so slight smile. She knew too much, you thought to yourself.
You looked ahead of you, to where Rivaille sat at the front of the group. You knew he could feel your eyes on his back, but turning around would have seemed...petty. Instead he simply readjusted his cloak, a small but noticeable sign that he had recognized you. You let a tiny small slip past your lips.
"We are opening the gate!!" A voice yelled from up ahead. "Titans are being kept out of the vicinity! Good Luck and Godspeed!"
You held your breath as the gate began to slowly rumble, raising to reveal the morning sun on the horizon. A few soldiers covered thier eyes against the harsh light, but Rivaille didn't move.
"Forward." He said loud enough for the group to hear. You found yourself nodding, and urging your horse onward. You were in the middle of the group, put there specifically by Rivaille, knowing it was the safest place in the squad.
You advanced through the gate, horses hooves pounding against cobblestones, then meeting soft grass and dirt.
Thus, the 58th expedition beyond the walls began.

The cold air hit your body as you shuddered, despite you were wearing warm clothing and a scarf. You walked down the street with a Starbucks in your hand. You took a sip of your hot chocolate and carried on walking, Summer was finished and Autumn was beginning. You looked around as people walked along minding their own business. You took another sip of your hot chocolate and continued on walking, sighing.
You loved Autumn but you hated winter. You sighed and carried on walking as you shifted your (f/c) scarf into a more comfortable position. You hummed and carried on down the street, finishing your hot chocolate. You threw the cup into the b

"You know if you continue lying on your back like that, you'll get in trouble."
Your caring friend Petra had caught you taking an idle nap when you were supposed to be cleaning, snoring soundly. You admit to doing such an act, explaining that the winter breeze made you sleepy. Now you were debating with yourself whether or not should you lie down for five more minutes, or to deem Petra correct. If Levi were to catch you like this, god knows what kind of heavy punishment he has in store for you.
Rendered defeated, you swung your feet to the ground and rose from your sitting position, lifting your hands above your head for a long stretch. You

"Riva~ It's so cold out!" You exclaimed, hugging your jacket around your body. A light, gray peacoat with a [F/C] scarf around your neck. You rubbed your mittens in front of you, trying to obtain warmth from the friction.
"It's not my fault you forgot your heavier coat," the short man retorted underneath his dark gray overcoat. "And don't call me that ridiculous name."
"But it's cute," you pouted, shoving your cold hands into your pockets.
You looked up and saw your inconsiderate boyfriend with a pissed off expression. "Come on," you complained, while grabbing your h
