A tiny sigh escaped Aki's lips. She was tired, and rightly had a reason to be. It had been 24 hours since The attack on New York. Aki had been in Stark tower when it happened. She worked there as a secretary, and as the attack unfolded, had worked to evacuate anyone else from the building, even if it meant putting herself in danger.

So it had surprised her when she found a strange man lying in debris on the loft that Mr. Stark lived in. He was extraordinarily handsome, jet black hair that was slicked back into feather wisps behind his head, pale skin, and a slim build. He was injured, it was obvious. Somehow, in the midst of her mind, she made the decision to help him.

Somehow, she had managed to smuggle him out the back door to her car, and drove him to her apartment outside Long Island. He had not woken up since then.

Aki glanced across the room to where the strange man lay on her couch. he had on the oddest clothing, she noted. A black and green trench coat with long boots up to his shins. He in all honesty, looked like he was straight out of a book, or perhaps a play on Shakespeare.

The black haired beauty stretched with fatigue. She had been sitting up this entire time, watching the man, trying to figure out his story.

"I should go take a nap, get some sleep." Aki thought aloud to herself. She stood up and strecthed again, listing with satisfaction to the pops and cracks her stiff joints made.

As she made her way to the bathroom, she couldn't help but wonder: Where did he come from? Who was he? Why was he in Stark tower?"

The cold water that ran over her skin helped wake her to her senses. She shook her head, sending droplets of water splashing onto the mirror. Aki turned off the water and gazed at her reflection absent mindedly. Black, sheek hair, with a strange section of auburn bangs, Autumn colored eyes, pale skin...

"Whatever." The girl muttered, tossing her towel at the mirror.

She grabbed a pony tail holder from her wrist and tied her hair up as she walked back to the living room, her hair falling in feathery light strands down her back.

However, as she entered the living room again, she noted something was terribly, terribly wrong. She felt like she was being watched, being stalked. One look at the couch confirmed her fears: The man was gone.

Immediately Aki straightened, and became still, listening to the sounds of traffic and the city. There was a small, almost inaudible footstep behind her. She spun, her hair flying, eyes searching for the source of the sound. When her eyes revealed nothing, her shoulders sagged with a releived sigh, and she turned around again-

To see emerald green eyes and have her wrists seized.

Aki yelped, but a fingers pressed against her lips delicately. "Shh shh shh." The man cooed. "Be silent."

Aki's eyes danced with frustration and a tad bit of fright, but she remained quiet. The man slowly removed his hand, but kept both her wrists in his hand.

"Tell me your name." It wasn't a request, it was a command.

"Aki" She replied simply, eyebrows drawing together in anger.

The man smiled softly, letting out a satisfied chuckle. "Very well, Aki, I am Loki of Asgard, and I desire to know why I am here."

For that, Aki hardly had an answer. "I found you in Stark tower." She said cautiously. "You were injured, and I brought you here."

Loki's eyes narrowed. "Why?" He almost hissed.

"Because..." She faltered, not having anything to say.

Loki smirked. "I see."

There was a heavy pause in the room as you both tried to stare down each other. Aki could hardly look into his eyes without shuddering. They were filled with a desire of some sort, she couldn't place it. Anger and a bit of confusion clouded his green irises. Eventually she looked away, and Loki released her hands.

"Thank you." Loki told her. "And I am sorry for surprising you, I am unused to Midgard and its people."

Aki nodded, looking off. Then, a thought occurred to her. "Midgard? Asgard? Where are from, anyways?" her eyes narrowed suspiciously.

Loki sighed. "I'm afraid I can't tell you that."

Aki shrugged. "Then I guess you are going to have to find somewhere else to go, buddy."

Loki rubbed his temples. "Please......Aki. I need a sanctuary as my own for just a day, maybe two. After that, I'll tell you all you desire to know. "

Aki bit her lip in thought, crossing her arms. Did she really trust this man? She ussually didn't trust men in general, after her experience with her last boyfriend. Yet something about Loki made her want to trust him.

Loki's eyes seemed to sadden as she stood indecisively, like a kicked puppy.

"Oh, fine!" She yelled, throwing up her hands. "But If I find you in my room, in my stuff, you're out of here mister."

Loki smiled innocently at her. "Why of course."

"Good. There's leftover pudding in the fridge, and some spaghetti if you want it, and the bathroom is over there." She spun on her heeel, headed for her room. "And for God's sake, stop sneaking around like that! It's creepy!"

Yet even as she headed for her bedroom, Aki knew this was a bad idea.

'Loki' turned out to be a gentleman, apparently. In order to show his thanks, Aki would find the dishes washed, the laundry folded, the apartment clean, and a bouquet of flowers waiting for her every day as she returned from work.

She began to grow fond of the guy, and she often enjoyed his company.

This peace was enjoyable, until Aki was listening to the news station one day at work.

"Here's those papers you wanted, Aki." A co-worker told her, setting a stack of papers on her desk. She glanced up at the TV as the local news came on again for the dozenth time that day. So far it had all been the same: All about the attack.

"This whole invasion stuff is pretty creepy." Her coworker noted, shuffling through some papers. "I had a girlfriend who was working downtown when it happened. She wont stop going on about she was apparently saved by Captain America."

"Crazy" Aki responded. She listened absent mindlessly to the news reporter talk about the attack.

"Police are still on a search for a man involved on the attack several days ago. Witnesses describe him as tall with medium length black hair and green eyes, and pale skin. He was last seen at stark tower, wearing gold and green trench coat. If you have any info on this man's whereabouts, please contact the police at this number..."

Aki froze, her fingers hovering over her keyboard as she listened. She paused for a few minutes, then grabbed her coat and rushed out the door.

"Aki! Aki!" Her coworker called after her. "hey, what am I supposed to tell boss? Aki!!"

Aki burst into the door, panting heavily. She needed answers, and she needed them now. Her hair fell over her face wildly, her eyes full of anger, and something else.

She rushed into the kitchen, somehow knowing, halfway praying, Loki was in there. He was, wearing his normal light green shirt without his trenchcoat or armor. He looked up at her curiously, holding a plate as if inspecting it for stains.

"Aki, you're home early, I-"

Aki's hand connected with his face harshly, making him drop the plate with a crash.

The girl stood with her hand across her body, anger and rage evident across her face. Tears gathered in her eyes at the hurt of betrayal. "You lied to me." She grated as Loki braced himself on the counter behind him.

"You lied to me! You didn't tell me the truth!" She yelled, beating on his chest. Loki grappled for her wrists, holding them as she leaned into his chest, heavy sobs replacing her words. She clung to Loki's shirt, staining it with tears. Loki could only hold her close as she cried, stroking her and murmuring softly to her.

"I don't want it to be you...!" Aki gasped. "Anyone but you...!"

Loki buried his chin in her dark hair. "Shhhh, shhh." He cooed softly, running his hand through dark locks.

Aki sniffled and buried her face into Loki's chest. "I dont want it to be you" She whispered. "Please tell me it isn't you."

Silently, and ever so slowly, Loki nodded into her hair.

Aki looked up at him, tears flowing down her face. "Loki..."

Loki looked away, shame evident on his face. "Please, Aki, I think it is time for me to tell you the truth." he led her to the living room nd sat her down on the couch there.

He had closed his eyes, as if to prepare himself for what he was about to say. "Aki...My name is Loki, Prince of Asgard, the seat of the nine realms, of which Earth is one of them.

Aki looked up at him with eyes that didn't seem to comprehend. "You.... are a God?"

Loki nodded. "It was I who led the attack one new York, in hopes of defeating my brother and his comrades. I was defeated, and left until you found me."

Aki nodded, rubbing fresh tears from her eyes. "You're the one they are looking for."

Loki nodded. "Aki,please, listen to me."

Aki looked up, her dark golden eyes wide.

"I was a villian, conceited, and prideful, thinking higher of myself than anyone else. And yet..." He held his hands to cup her face. "I am no longer such, thus due to you, Aki. I have found myself again, no...You found me. I was lost, drifting in the corruption of the tesseract, and yet you managed to find me, to show me kindness than i have never before seen in a human."

Aki placed her hands over his, listening.

"And, after all this, my dear..." He placed a slow, delicate kiss on her lips that sent her skin racing with electricity. He pulled back, and for a moment, Aki wished he didn't. "I love you."

Aki's skin raced with shivers. Those words, she hadn't heard them in such a very, very long time. Back when she was a child in her mother's arms...

"Love..." She echoed. "I love you...Loki."

The prince placed another kiss to her forehead. "My dear, it is time for me to leave, but I promise you, I will come back for you. Someday, when all of this is over."

Aki nodded, leaning forward and placing a chaste kiss to his lips.

"And I will wait for you, until you do, my Prince."

This is a request for :iconmcjangdanbi:, who requested this back a log time ago. I'm trying to get all my art trades, most of my requests done before I go to Italy. The next two shall be up tomorrow, hopefully.

This was way too rushed. I hope you'll forgive me. I'll fix it later, but now I have to go pack. :3
