Due to some persuading on Steve's part and a little bit of yelling on Tony's part, the team managed to convince Fury to release you. However, this now meant you were boarding at Stark Towers with the rest of the Avengers. (Save Thor, of course)

Speaking of which.

"Where is Thor?" You asked Steve, who sat across from you at the breakfast table, reading the morning newspaper. Apparently it was a daily habit of hid, which made total sense.

It had been a few days since Loki and your capture by SHEILD. By pestering Steve and Tony and Clint, you managed to find out he was being kept in a compound deep beneath Stark Tower, only accessible through top security clearance, meaning the Avengers, Fury, and a handful of SHEILD agents.

In those few days, you relayed to everyone the adventures you and Loki had during the past year. Most of the avengers were cautious, still, but Tony was fascinated with your story and the worlds you visited. Bruce, however, had only listened for the first few minutes before excusing himself and leaving.

Despite being constantly under watch, and having one of the team members with you at all times, you were quite happy with your lodgings. You had ten floors to roam, including a full bath ans spa, gym, theater, and luxurious dining room.

Right now you and Steve were sitting in the kitchenette on the floor where your room was, eating the pancakes JARVIS had so readily made for you.

Steve look up from his newspaper, a crumb stuck on the corner of his mouth. "Hmm?"

"Thor." You repeated. "Where is Thor?"

Steve set down his coffee cup and folded his newspaper. "Last time I checked, Thor and Jane were in Asgard. He alerted us he was going to be out of contact for a few days." He gave you a meaningful look, which after a moment, you caught onto.

"I-I see." You coughed, a light pink blush coloring your face.

"Morning team!" A tired voice yawned from the other side of the room. Before Steve could even say hello, you had snatched his paper and buried your already blushing red face in the stock exchange section.

"Good morning, Stark." Steve greeted, a little befuzzled at the disappearance of his paper. "And Can you please put on a shirt?"

Tony had a strange habit of walking around most days until noon without a shirt, at which point Pepper would drag him into his bedroom and make him dress. This habit, however, made you very uncomfortable, especially when Tony would tease you or go out of his way to get close to you, knowing it would set you on edge.

"Watcha reading?" The billionaire asked as he peaked over your shoulder. You bristled, and it took all your restraint not to jab him in the ribs.

"The stock exchange." you muttered, your face a brilliant crimson.

"Oh?" Tony asked, pressing closer, so you could feel his chest on your back. "Hmm. Seems the DOW is up."

Your hands were trembling at this point. Tony noticed. "Hmm? Why are you so stressed?" his hands slithered over your shoulders, causing you to squeak with indignation.

Suddenly, a book seemed to sail across the room, and it hit Tony in the back of his head with a not-so dull 'THUD'. The Billionaire went down on the floor like a ton of bricks.

"Nice throw Clint." Steve complimented, impressed.

Clint relaxed from his throwing pose and walked over to the table. "Thanks." he muttered, ruffling your hair. "Morning kiddo."

"Morning Clint." You greeted back. "Coffee?"

"Yeah, thanks."

"What did you guys do to Tony?" Bruce asked, running a hand through his bed-head hair.

You giggled, hiding your face in the paper again. "Clint delivered him the written word, as it were." This only caused Steve to choke on his coffee and nearly spray it all over the table.

The Elevator beeped, revealing Natasha, already in her SHEILD jumpsuit. "Thor just checked in. He heard about the situation and should be back in a few hours."

You smiled broadly, then frowned. It would be great to see your 'big brother' again, but on the other hand, Loki would probably have mixed feelings about seeing his brother.

"That's good news." Steve spoke up. "Maybe he can give us a little more info on exactly what this 'meteor' is."

Oh. Right. That.

Nobody had spoken of it in the past few days, but you knew everyone was a bit on edge about it. According to satellites and calculations, the mysterious ship was not slowing down; Instead, it actually seemed to be speeding up

As you continued to think further about this, another head-splitting pain ripped through your skull, almost making you fall out of your chair.

Bruce placed a steadying hand on your shoulder, and you shot him a grateful glance.

"I'm okay." You told him, and everyone else, who seemed to flinch as you doubled over in pain. "Just a little tired I guess."

"You should get some sleep." Natasha advised. "You've been through a lot recently."

You nodded distractedly. Yet you took her advise and excused yourself, walking away to your bedroom. Behind you, you could her some of the team talking in concerned murmurs.

It was only mere seconds after you crawled into bed that sleep overtook you.

"________. Wake up."

You groaned, the new voice muddling your fatigued thoughts.

"______. Wake up~! It's Jane!"

At this your eyes flew open, and you bolted upright. "Jane!" You yelped. The blue eyed brunette threw her arms around you, and you eagerly returned the gesture.

"_______! Omigosh, where have you been? You have got to stop this habit of randomly disappearing!"

You laughed, holding your cousin at arm's length. "It's not me!" You protested. "I seem to be keeping a company that insists on spontaneous adventures!"

Both of you laughed, touching foreheads.

"How long have you been here?" You asked.

"About an hour. Thor is meeting with the rest of the team. I snuck off to find you."

A worried expression passed over your face briefly, but disappeared when another wave of nausea passed over you.

You groaned and folded over, wishing the nausea would bury itself in the sheets.

"_______? What's wrong?"

You looked up at her, trying to hide your discomfort behind a smile. "Nothing. I've just been feeling nauseous recently."

Jane's eyes narrowed. "Nauseous?" she questioned, the playfulness gone from her tone.

You nodded. "And headaches. Oh, and I'm really tired, and my back hurts."

"Okay...." Jane rubbed her chin in thought. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Shoot" You muttered from inside your blanket.

There was a significant pause before Jane took a deep breath. "Are you...late?"

You considered this before your head shot up from your blankets. You counted the days on your fingers, then looked at Jane in horror.

Jane mirrored your expression, and it took a few full moments for the realization to sink in.

"You...you're...-"

"Pregnant."

You saw this coming. Don't act surprised. >.>
