Hello all, I hope you had happy holidays and got nice presents/spent time with family/etc'.

So, here we are. About 2 1/2 years ago I would have never imagined myself here, with over 2,000 watchers, almost 200,000 pageviews, and so, so many lovely friends.

However, all things must come to and end, which is why i am writing this.

I have moved onto different fandoms, I doubt I will be writing reader inserts much in the future. So this is mainly a fanfiction account.

The series that are currently unfinished on here will in all likelihood remain unfinished. I may choose to go back and finish them someday, but the chances are slim.

I have unfollowed everyone, I'm currently in the process of ridding myself of my feedback messages (Totaling almost 2,000 at this point) and my remaining points. I have moved leadership of my groups to different users, etc'.

Everything is in order, the only thing left to say is goodbye.

But before I do, I want you all to know how much I appreciate your support and love over the years. Some of you have been with me through my roughest times, and I truly appreciate that. I love all of you so much. I won't be logging onto DA anytime soon, but there is always my tumblr (zeph-chan.tumblr.com) and my skype per individual request.

So with that, I bid you all a wonderful new year and a wonderful 2015.

So some of you may or may have not noticed my absence for the past two months. For those of you who did not know, I have started my freshman year of college.

This means I have not been updating AT ALL, and honestly, am not likely to update anytime soon either. By that I mean there will probably be about ZERO updates for about....the next 6 months or so.

I've also been thinking a lot recently about....well...leaving.

As much as I love DA, I just don't think it's the right place for me. For my writing at least. 
That being said, I will probably be slowly making the transition to AO3 within the next few months. Meaning I will be taking my works and publishing them there. Once I have fully made the transition, I will post a link to my AO3 account and you can follow me there.

I am still debating whether or not to delete my account once that is all said and done. 

So to sum up: Unless things change, I am probably leaving, and also in college, which means no updates until summer even if I do stay.

This will probably be the last you hear from me for quite some time. So before I go, allow me to say a word:

Thank you all so much for watching, following me, favoriting and supporting me throughout this entire time.
You all are so wonderful and so amazing and mean so much to me.
I have not enough words to say how much you guys are important to me.

Recently I have gotten a multitude of notes from various deviants asking my opinion on a certain topic, and this is:

"What is your opinion, thoughts on the #FreeTheAuthor movement?"

Now let me first say that is a dear friend of mine. She is a great author, and believes that what she is doing is the right thing. You have to admire her hard work and passion put into this effort. 

That being said, I have mixed feelings about this movement. 

I want to start off with the obvious:

DA rules do say:

"DeviantART strictly prohibits the submission of materials classified as pornographic or obscene. There is no exception to this prohibition.
Certain content may be deemed obscene by the administration and as such the staff reserves the right to remove such content immediately upon discovery. The administration reserves the sole right to review and classify questionable material as obscene or not obscene."

When you agree to the "Terms of Service" and "Etiquette Policy" when you join, you agree to the fact that your work may be deemed inappropriate and taken down. 

This is especially true is the subject of the fanfiction is UNDERAGE

United States laws explicitly say that sexual content/acts with those under the age of 18 is prohibited. DA has reasonably deemed that rule to also apply to fictional content, including fictional characters and reader inserts. 

If you post a lemon or sexual explicit piece with an underage character, DA has complete and total right to take it down. I agree when I say you should not be posting that, ESPECIALLY if you are under 18 years of age. 

Now, regarding fiction with characters who are not underage: back to what I said about the DA Etiquette Policy, DA reserves the right to deem your work obscene or sexually explicit, and take it down. You agreed to that fact when you clicked the box that says: "I agree to the Terms of Service and Etiquette Policy" at the bottom of the signup page.

DA also defines what is explicit and what is not, any genitalia engaging in sexual acts is defined to be obscene, whereas simple nudity is not. Correct me if I am wrong, but I have yet to see a literary piece banned or taken down for simply expressing the idea of nudity. So that is at least level on both fields. Meaning DA allows nudity in written works as well as pictures, as long as there are no sexual acts involved. As much I dislike the idea of barely clothed models posing provocatively for the camera, it isn't prohibited and is in fact, an artistic form. 

I think that's one of Emma's points is that material such as that described above is allowed while actual sexual literature is not. Which honestly boggles my mind a bit, and confuses me. Actual explicit and pornographic material is banned, which is exactly WHAT Lemons are. Pictures of models, as long as they are not engaging in sexual activity, does not fall under that description. Though I agree that some of it should be, I want to make clear that for the most part: These two things are not one and the same.

Once again, I do not support deviations that involve models in provocative and suggestive wear/positions, in fact I do not appreciate finding them on the front page often, I do not enjoy seeing that. HOWEVER they comply with guidelines of the site, whereas Lemons do not. That is my current understanding, and a position I do not argue with. 

And YES, I believe that such pieces deserve a mature content warning, and any piece, literary or not, that depicts sexual situations in explicit detail, deserves a STRICT warning. 

So in total, what Emma is doing, as justified as it might be, is probably misinformed. I support the fact that she is raising awareness of the suggestive/provocative content with no mature content labels, but the fact that she is trying to get Lemons accepted by DA is not an idea that I support for reasons mentioned throughout this journal.

So some of you may have noticed that I've been rather inactive here for the past week.
Well that's due to the fact that my old laptop fried and my new one hasn't arrived yet.
So in the meantime that means no updates, no or little responses, and generally not a lot of activity on my part.
So if you are disappointed that i have not responded, please understand I'm trying my best to catch up with what little time I have.
As for college news, everything is going very well. I just finished my second weeks of classes, and enjoying all of them. The campus is lovely and I've already made quite a few friends.
I'll make sure to give you guys another journal when i get my new laptop, okay?
